The garden behind (actually it envelops) Nancy's house almost seems like a magical place. It is filled with so many trees, shrubs, vines, perennials and annuals, that it is hard to imagine that when she was a child the largest piece of it was a lawn that they played croquet and badminton on! Her father did have a garden in the back, but most of the yard was grass and a home for chickens.
A few yards after wandering down the zig-zag of a path, when you turn around you can't even see the house now. In addition to the many colors, textures, and flowers, a special treat for me was the sweet smell of honeysuckle that was climbing over the top of an arbor. It brought back memories of summers in my own back yard when I was growing up.
Nancy's garden is a real treat, I think everyone in the Club should see it at least once, I know I am looking forward to going back.
